A 2-axis pan tilt head for a very interesting price. You can control this pan tilt combination with the MX2 motion controller in combination with the Dynamic Perception Marlin adapter kit for the MX2.

This is the last Merlin head that we have available.

This pan and tilt head can be connected to your MX2 controller. That way you can create a 3-axis system when you combine the head with the Stage One or Stage Zero dolly. Note that this head doesn't fit directly on the Stage One Slider. Check out our blog about how you can create a simple adapter so that the pan and tilt head can be mounted on the Stage One Slider.

How to use the Dynamic Perception MX2 motion controller with a Sony camera

The Dynamic Perception MX2 motion controller is a great controller that controls the motor of you slider and your camera. The MX2 can even control the Merlin 2-axis pan and tilt head that we have available on our site.

Sony camera's are supported by the MX2 motion controller too. We just found out that these camera's don't work out-of-the-box with the MX2. You need to set some settings before your camera can be triggered by the MX2 motion controller.

Every time lapser sometimes has the need to control multiple camera's at the same time. But how do you control multiple camera's connected to one time lapse controller like the MX2 motion controller or the nanoMoCo boards? Here's a sneak preview of a product coming out in a few weeks.

The MUX-4 is a 4-way multi-purpose multiplexor. Its primary purpose is to split one camera control into 4 safely, and can be daisy-chained into quite a few cameras. However, it can be used to split any two inputs into 4x2.

How to mount a Merlin head on the Dynamic Perception Stage One Slider

The plate of the Dynamic Perception Stage One Slider is smaller than the plate of the Stage Zero. This makes it a bit hard to mount the Merlin 2-axis pan and tilt head on the Stage One dolly. The Merlin cannot turn freely because the motor is in the way. You could drill an extra hole in the plate, but who wants to do that with this beautiful camera slider.

Time to spend some time behind my milling machine. The result is a small adapter. This adapter is mounted under the Merlin head. I milled a small chamber in the 15mm thick adapter so that the bold that mounts the adapter to the Merlin head is sunken in the adapter.
