RamperPro firmware 3037 is available - Dumaguete release
We just release a major new firmware, version 3037, for our RamperPro advanced timelapse controller. This is the first release that includes full support for our stepper motor add-on for the RamperPro. You can now control you slider directly with the RamperPro because the RamperPro is now a motion controller and an advanced camera controller.
The new motion control feature uses the RamperPro as a joystick. Just move the RamperPro to move your motor so that you can set the start and end position. Lead in and lead out is also supported so that can use acceleration and deceleration in your move.
The new release also includes a much better online update function. The new installer can now update and install all required software so that your SD card holds all the latest and greatest versions of the RamperPro and its' supporting software. The RamperPro also needs two, so called, embedded firmware applications. These can new be installed from the RamperPro via a new installation wizard. You don't need to download these firmwares manuall anymore. There is no need anymore to use a PC or Mac to update your RamperPro to the latest embedded firmware versions!
The most important features that are added in version 3037 are:
- New update function that fully updates your RamperPro SD card
- Installation wizard to upgrade the embedded firmware from the RamperPro. Check this tutorial to see how.
- No touch screen re-calibration after an update of the firmware
- Change in the configuration. Some parameters are moved to the systems settings page
- Stepper motor control with lead in and lead out support
- The triggering of motion control devices (including the stepper motors) is now right after your camera took an image. This means that the motors are now moving in parallel with the histogram analysis of the RamperPro
